Waiting on / Desperately Wanting Wednesday

June 26, 2013

Im doing this meme again after a very long time. Why haven't I participated for so long? Well, it's mainly because there've been SO SO manny books that I've wanted to read, ad I just couldn't pick one for WoW.

But this week, there are two books that I really, really want to read, much more than the others. Like if you gave me the books right now, I'd start squealing (yes, I squeal. A certain friend hates it), and flailing and fangirling in general. You'd also be my absolute favourite person in the world for a really long time :D.

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event that is hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine
and spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.
I'm Waiting on...

Title: Hover (The Taking, #2)
Author: Melissa West
Publication date: August 6, 2013
Publisher: Entangled Teen
Genre: Young Adult, Sci-fi

On Earth, seventeen-year-old Ari Alexander was taught to never peek, but if she hopes to survive life on her new planet, Loge, her eyes must never shut.

Because in this world, pleasure is everything, held up by a ruling body that keeps their people in check by giving them what they want and closing their eyes to what's really happening around them. The only hope Loge has is to move its people to Earth, and they have a plan.

Thousands of humans crossed over to Loge after a poisonous neurotoxin released into Earth’s atmosphere, nearly killing them. They sought refuge in hopes of finding a new life, but what they became were slaves, built to siege war against their home planet. That is, unless Ari and Jackson can stop them.

But on Loge, nothing is as it seems…and no one can be trusted.
Why I'm waiting:

Gravity, book 1 of The Taking series, blew my mind with it's absolute amazingness (that's not a word. I know.)! There has been so many books in this genre lately, that they all just began to run together in my head. Bu this one, WOW! Stood out, and how!

The concept was totally unique, and I loved the characters in this book, really. The kickass heroine, Ari (thumbs up for the pretty & unique name), the non freakish alien (hey, it is a book, alright? And he is the MC, so duh!), and the very real secondary characters made this book simply wonderful. As soon as I finished it, I wanted the sequel, but yeah, like you can see, it releases only in August. I've gotta hang tight till then, biding my time on other books.

Desperately Wanting Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Rachel at Parajunkee's View. It is based off of the meme hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, Waiting on Wednesday. There are so many already released books out there that we desperately want to read, but just haven’t purchased them yet, or actually gotten around to read! This is a meme to list books that we desperately want to read.
I'm Desperately Wanting...

 Title: Me Before You
Author: Jojo Moyes
Publication date: January 5, 2012
Publisher: Michael Joseph (UK)
Genre: Contemporary, Chick Lit

Lou Clark knows lots of things. She knows how many footsteps there are between the bus stop and home. She knows she likes working in The Buttered Bun tea shop and she knows she might not love her boyfriend Patrick.
What Lou doesn't know is she's about to lose her job or that knowing what's coming is what keeps her sane.
Will Traynor knows his motorcycle accident took away his desire to live. He knows everything feels very small and rather joyless now and he knows exactly how he's going to put a stop to that.
What Will doesn't know is that Lou is about to burst into his world in a riot of colour. And neither of them knows they're going to change the other for all time.
Why I'm wanting:

Have you read the blurb? Read it.

Have you read Elena at Novel Sound's review of the book? Read it.

Have you now been bitten by the bug? Welcome to the club.

Still not convinced? I have nothing to say to you. (Nah, I 'm just kidding. Hang around the book's GR page for a bit, and you'll cross over. Trust me.)

Leave a comment and say hi! Anything else is great too! :D

This blog is an award free blog. I'm truly honoured that you would think to nominate me, but unfortunately, things are really hectic for me what with juggling college, books, and blogging, and I find myself unable to spread the awards to other deserving bloggers.
